Kindergarten Transition

Our Kindergarten transition group are the children who will be starting formal education the following year.  Their day is very similar to the preschool group and filled with heaps of exploration time. The only real difference is we try to challenge children more and provide brief adult directed activities. If a child in this group doesn't want to participate or is not grasping a concept there is no pressure. The real goal is to provide short exposure to different academic topics and "school concepts" in a low yet, more "formal" presentation. The big key difference between Monarch Hollow and standard preschool programs is our focus on phonics and presentation of lower-case letters. We also do not formally focus on writing letters however, we will support a child's interest in writing.
