Lessons and Learning
After breakfast, we start our day off in a morning gather. We discuss things such as what we did over the weekend, what we would like to do today, what's for lunch and snack, upcoming events, etc. Stories will be read, songs will be song, and importing learning topics will be discussed. Some of these discussions are to help children work on their conflict resolution skills, asking for help, emotional regulation, group conduct, etc. We then prepare for outside time where we may go for neighborhood walk, have a campfire, explore nature, play in the mud kitchen, swing, zipline, climb, dig for treasure, create art, make music play typical "school yard" games, or whatever the children imagine.

Depending on skill level, children help in various ways to prepare and clean up lunch which may be eaten inside or outside depending on weather. During the transition to lunch while while food is cooking children participate in a sign language lesson. After lunch and clean-up, children participate in a music lesson while the main kitchen is cleaned.

After lunch and music, we prepare for a quiet time which again may be inside or outside depending on the weather. This is the time where children may rest, school children work on lessons, and older preschoolers continue to explore and work and receive a bit more one-on-one direction and tailored lessons.

We finish the day off with a snack, cleaning our classroom, and heading back outside, if we are not outside already.
